1960s Style Throwback

For the third look that I shot with Joelle for her etsy shop, Vita Vintage Girl, I rocked this lace up mod-like 1960s sheath dress. I love the simple lines of the dress and the lace up detail at the neckline. I found the round sunglasses in Joelle's car and thought it very fitting for some retro vibes. I attempted to tease my hair a bit and tie to the side for a different look, then Joelle snapped some pics of me at the park and in front of this super rad VW van! If you're looking to go a bit more literal with a mod-style or other retro dress or outfit, modernize the look with a pair of a classic pair of shoes you own, for this instance, I wore my black booties that I wore with the other two looks. Vintage Tropical Print Pants

The second look shot by Joelle features tropical print pants from Vita Girl Vintage. I kept the look simple with a white button down and black booties. This look brought me back to my loose wearing pant days in Vietnam, which helped keep me cool in the humid weather. Due to the loose fit of the pants, and I had a loose fitting shirt, I tucked the shirt into the waistband of the bands to give my silhouette more shape. I also wore this look to the KIN LA event here. Photos taken by Joelle Nguyen.

The House Salon, Mission Viejo

I was thrilled when Morgan from The House Salon in Mission Viejo contacted me for a blowout. I had an upcoming wedding, and her timing couldn't be more perfect. I came in on a Saturday morning and was absolutely enraptured by the space. I love the openness and the industrial meets uber chic salon space. There's a ton of room and all the furniture and product looks in it's rightful place. Morgan was very sweet from beginning to end; starting me off with a mimosa, then onto a shampoo and blowdry, and lastly curling my hair with an iron. Before we had gotten started I showed her the look I wanted and she delivered. She even took pictures for me by the salon's seating area, which may I add had runway shows up on the tv (above the fireplace) the entire time (my kind of shows). I would most definitely come back to Morgan for another blowout, she also specializes in color and cuts. See her work here, and book her here.

Grand Marnier Summer Solstice Party

Last Sunday after visiting the art installation Projection, Renee and I headed to the Hollywood Roosevelt for the Grand Marnier Raspberry Peach Summer Solstice party. We enjoyed spirited snow cones, a DIY muddled lemonade stand featuring Grand Marnier's Raspberry Peach Liqueur, a braid bar by GLAMSQUAD, metallic tattoos by Dash of Flash, flower crowns by the Mille Fiori, a photo booth by The Bosco, freshly infused water and live music. We had a blast and the Raspberry Peach Liqueur was DE-LISH.
